CA's Day of Fun and Faces

by Savannah Fair, Commercial Art Class of 2026

Last week, Commercial Arts and Management Information Systems worked together to create beautiful caricature drawings.

In a real-world setting, a commercial artist is responsible for working closely with clients to bring visions to life. The beginner commercial arts class took pencil to paper, studying the MIS class as they worked. Students were encouraged to draw someone they’ve never met before. A lot of the time in the art world, you are working with new faces, and learning to speak with them is a huge part of it.

After completing the drawing portion, students returned to their theory room and added watercolors to bring the drawings to life. The best part was delivering the finished art pieces to MIS, and seeing their faces light up.

Although it’s only their first year, the beginner commercial arts class is already learning very important job skills, while bringing joy and making beautiful art.

Let’s give it up for our Commercial Art Students! Keep up the hard work!
