Take Your Child to Work Day 2026

Take Your Child to Work Day looks a little different at Lawrence County CTC — and that’s what makes it so special. With so many different career and technical programs under one roof, students and staff had the opportunity to share a wide variety of hands-on experiences with the next generation of learners.

This year, the day was led by our School-Wide Positive Behavior Student Leaders, who escorted the children through an exciting schedule of activities across campus. Their first stop was Cosmetology, where students enjoyed mini spa treatments and, for some, even fresh haircuts. Next, they headed to Construction Trades, where the children rolled up their sleeves and helped build benches alongside students in the shop.

After enjoying lunch with their families, the group visited Commercial Arts to design and create their own hologram stickers, allowing creativity to shine. One of the favorite stops of the day was the Veterinary Assistant shop, where the children enjoyed some relaxing puppy time with the animals. The day wrapped up in the academic wing with a fun scavenger hunt that had students exploring and working together.

Take Your Child to Work Day was not only a fun experience for the children, but also a wonderful opportunity for LCCTC students to showcase the skills and knowledge they have gained in their trades.
