Try and Fail and "Tie" Again: Learning to Tie a Tie

It was Oscar Wilde who once said “A well-tied tie is the first serious step in life.”

These moments of learning in English Class tell the story of young people who understand what they must do to put their best foot forward and are willing to try and fail and “tie” again.

These moments might include dressing for a dance or a family event. Perhaps they are preparing for an interview or, better yet, a promotion.

It is the art of knowing how to tie a tie and is as important as the learning itself. Tying a tie enables confidence over frustration, a useful skill they’ll have for the rest of their lives, and a shareable skill they can lead others to learn.

To borrow a line from The Kindsman, “Clothes maketh the man.” Great job, gentlemen!
