Success is No Accident: LCCTC SkillsUSA D10 Championship Results

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel by providing educational programs, events, and competitions that support career and technical education. SkillsUSA members are more likely to earn license certification, meet potential employers, gain information to understand the work environment and connect school to work.

The SkillsUSA Framework of personal skills, workplace skills, and technical skills immersed in academics empowers our students to become world-class workers, leaders, and American citizens.

Our students who participated in the District 10 SkillsUSA Competition not only competed in their chosen category but gained networking connections with students from other schools, overcame their nerves, and acquired professional self-motivation.

In all, 54 Lawrence County CTC students competed in the District 10 Championships; each was selected by their teachers — some going through an in-house competition to earn their spot on the team. Of those 54, 34 will head to State Championships in Hershey, PA on April 12-14 — their goal? To do their very best and to have a lot of fun. Of course, a medal would be great, too! Just like with District Competition, state gold medalists will earn their bid to compete at the SkillsUSA National Championships in Atlanta, GA on June 19-23rd.

We want all SkillsUSA competitors to know that we are incredibly proud of them and their willingness to put their skills on the line with other talented CTE students in the Western PA area. As to those who medaled: Congratulations; we hope you are inspired to keep striving to do your very best! And for those who are moving on to state competition — OUTSTANDING! Keep on working hard, all the while striving to be your very best . . . in ALL you do!

“Success is no accident.  It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, a love of what you’re learning to do.”  ~ Pele
