Student Council Hosts a Fantastically Fun Fall Flannel Fest

by Madison Deli, senior HA & Vice President of the Class of 2021

A gentle breeze. A chill in the air. A roaring fire and the sweet smell of roasting marshmallows filled the air. Brightly colored leaves hung overhead like a chandelier exploding in a kaleidoscope of color.

On Saturday October 10 from 6-9pm LCCTC had their first-ever Fall Flannel Fest hosted by the student council members and advisors.

Students gathered by the parking lot to enjoy activities for a fun-filled evening of cornhole, pumpkin-smashing, dancing to music from the DJ, and scarecrow making.  Thanks to Restaurant Trades, students enjoyed the amazing food as they warmed up by the bonfire!

“Congratulations to Ms. Cozza, Ms. Brown, Mrs. Caiazza and Ms. Price along with all the staff that helped on Saturday. The Fall Flannel Fest was a wonderful time and our students truly enjoyed themselves. I look forward to this becoming an annual event. Great job and keep up the wonderful work,” stated Mr. Milanovich Principal of LCCTC.

The Fall Fest was a good time for students to hang out with their friends and fellow classmates and just be kids!  This included a make-shift sidewalk line-dance floor and an impromptu roll race down the hill!

”The Fall Fest had a really cozy, fall feel and was such a fun experience for my friends and me to enjoy. I would love to see LCCTC make this an annual event,” said Amiyah Little, Senior Class President. ”Thank you so very much for a wonderful Saturday evening!”

The Fest had an amazing turnout and went very smoothly being the first one ever organized.  Smiles lit up the outside of LCCTC as students and staff members, some with their own families in tow, had a wonderful time coming together as a LCCTC family.  ”Thank you so very much for a wonderful Saturday evening!

We believe the students enjoyed their time at the first Fall Flannel Festival and hope to grow for next year.

The members of the student council and their advisors would like to send BIG “Thank-you’s” to the following:

  • to the administration for permitting and encouraging us to have an event that would be safe and fun for our students amidst the craziness of 2020!

  • to Ms. Jen Price and Restaurant Trades for the delicious and creative food, snacks and goodies.

  • to Mr. Kurt Miller and MT&T for creating “Thor's Hammer” to smash the pumpkins.

  • to Mrs. Ariel Yanak and FFA for the hay bales and corn stalks that made everything look so fall-ish and festive.

  • to Mr. TJ and Constructions Trades for the stack of wood that would last until next Thursday, the scarecrow bases, and the corn hole boards.

  • to Mr. Anthony DeRosa and Commercial Arts and Mr. Evan Banner and the Collision Repair shops for the wonderful paint job and finishing work on the beautiful and creative LCCTC corn hole boards.

  • to Corporal Hoyland and Officer Covert for attending and keeping safe -- and for being so “corny” with us.

  • to Mr. John Goebel and Auto Tech crew who helped keep the fire going well into the evening.

  • to our special chaperones Mrs. Christina Weisenstein, Mrs. Jamie Jones, Mr. Vince Pavia and his furbaby George -- both who stole the show with matching flannels.

  • to everyone who donated time, gift cards, and well wishes.

  • to all who came out and enjoyed the evening socializing with students and friends.

  • BUT......an immense round of THANKS goes out to the fantastic and wonderful crew that helped set up, tear down and clean up. This would not have been a success without you! Thank you George, Frank, Joan, and John!!!!

  • LCCTC students would sincerely like to thank Ms. Leah Cozza, Ms.J’ulie Brown, and Mrs. Diana Caiazza for guiding the student council as they ensured that all the Ts were crossed and the I’s were dotted -- ensuring that Fall Flannel Fest would be a certain success.
