SkillsUSA Week: Feb 2 - 5, 2026

SKILLSUSA WEEK — Feb 2 - 5

On Mission Monday, and today, we celebrate our lead advisors who make it possible for our chapter of SkillsUSA to "Champion Our Future!" Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Weisenstein! We appreciate you, Mr. Goebel!

During SkillsUSA Week, we reflect on the many ways we’ve been able to serve our community so far this year on "Tools for Good" Tuesday.

We would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to the Veterans and Agent Orange Veterans Project for their partnership and support. Through this connection, our members had the incredible opportunity to:

  • Help our nation’s veterans with mobility struggles visit the monuments in Washington, DC, and witness the Changing of the Guard and Laying of the Wreath at Arlington National Cemetery.

  • Inviting us to serve veterans and their families at the annual Pre-Parade Pancake BreakfastProviding flags to distribute to children and veterans along the Veterans Day Parade route

  • Teaching us the meaning behind the 13 folds of a veteran’s memorial flag

  • Allowing us to pull veterans’ flags from our local cemetery so they could be properly retired, we look forward to planting them again for Memorial Day this spring

We also thank YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer for

  • Welcoming us back to build bunk beds, helping ensure more children can enjoy the camp experience.

By using our tools for good, we strive to live out this quote by Maya Angelou: “I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands.”

Thank you for allowing us to serve and for the opportunity to use our "tools for good."

Wednesday's focus during SkillsUSA is REAL-WORLD WEDNESDAY. Today, we celebrate one way SkillsUSA helps our students prepare themselves to be job-ready: by requiring every competitor to submit a resume.

Bridging the gap between education and industry, the resume requirement is crucial for developing career-ready professionals and connecting them with potential employers.

On Think Big Thursday, we’re going for the gold by thanking the companies that generously support SkillsUSA.

If you would like to support our local chapter of SkillsUSA, we encourage you to contact us:

On Friday, it is Focus on the Future Friday. Today, we celebrate the accomplishments of our Lawrence County CTC Chapter of SkillsUSA. Meet our District 10 gold medalists and competitors who will represent our county at the SkillsUSA PA State Championships in Hershey, PA on April 8 - 10. Good luck, Team Lawrence County CTC!!
