Serving Veterans: VAPOVP Pancake Breakfast

This year, the SkillsUSA members from LCCTC woke up a little earlier than in past years. Ready to, once again, lend assistant to the Veterans and Agent Orange Veterans Project at their annual Pre-Parade Pancake Breakfast.

A little sleepy on such a chilly morning, they soon perked up as the veterans arrived, hungry for pancakes, and for some, veterans and students, alike, eager to see the same smiling faces they encountered on the trip to DC in the prior month. Our students poured coffee, fetched orange juice, served pancakes and sausage, and bussed tables — all with smiles and happy to be able to give back to the veterans and their families.

Once again, Hugh Coryea, president of the VAOVP — Thank you for the opportunity to learn real-world skills through service.
