Cleaning Up Cascade! ~ United Way Day of Caring

by Desiree D’Ambrosi, Commercial Art Class of 2026

On Thursday, September 4th, LCCTC’s Peer Leadership took a quick trip up to Cascade Park to participate in the United Way Day of Caring event! They were joined by several other school districts, sponsoring organizations, and community members.

Everyone was greeted with a warm welcome and a very hearty breakfast provided by the volunteers. The peer leaders were delighted to connect with other schools and enjoyed the music provided at the event, as well as the lovely speeches by the volunteers for United Way Day of Caring.

After the lovely introduction, Peer Leaders were set to help clean up around Cascade Park. Some students were set to paint the old train station and helped bring it back to life! The Groundskeepers from Cascade helped our Peer Leaders give the old train station a lovely new coat of paint!

Other Peer Leaders helped with pruning the overgrown plants around Cascade and the old pool area. Some even got to enjoy a golf cart ride through Cascade, delivering water to volunteers!

Even if it wasn’t a very bright and clear day, the Peer Leaders still showed up for the United Way Day of Caring event and did their absolute best to help around Cascade and the community that enjoy its beauty.

Thank you, Peer Leaders, for your hard work and your dedication to helping our community whenever you have the opportunity!
