Carlee Gets Ready for her Co-Op Job with a Stop by the Boutique!

Tomorrow marks a special milestone for Carlee Meyer—it’s her first day on co-op at Grand Paws Pet Salon & Boutique in Ellwood City, PA! Today, Carlee stopped by the Eagle’s Nest Boutique to pick up scrubs for her big day, and she couldn't be more excited. In fact, she was so thrilled with her outfit that she had to snap a photo with Aquila (Latin for “eagle”), our Boutique model!

“Go Carlee! Having this opportunity to go on Co-Op is setting her up for a great future!” — Mrs. Ariel Yanak, Veterinary Assistant Instructor

Not only is Carlee looking professional and ready for her co-op, but she’s also rocking her scrubs today at school because she’s just that proud—and we can’t blame her. Too darn cute!

A huge shoutout to Mrs. Cozza-Campbell and her amazing Student Council students who created a stunning new display to highlight both school events and the Eagle’s Nest Boutique. Be sure to stop by throughout the year to see Aquila's stylish outfit changes for events like:

  • Fall Flannel Fest

  • School-Wide PBIS Trips

  • Holiday Dance

  • Winter Wear Drive

  • Senior Exit Interviews

  • Prom

  • ...and more!

The Eagle’s Nest Boutique is one of the many ways LCCTC is living out its mission of putting students first. While many schools say it, LCCTC proves it—with food giveaways, fun events, academic support, and now this free, on-campus clothing boutique.

Founded by Ms. Young, with support from staff, students, and community partners, the boutique is a safe and inclusive place for all students to get clothing and hygiene items completely free of charge.

📍 Location: Behind the Cyber Room, A-Wing

Donations can be dropped off in the front office, and Mrs. Lyons, along with our Service Occupations seniors, will ensure they're cleaned and organized.

All donations—from LCCTC Staff, Family, and Community; Albert Gettings Memorial Foundation; Giant Eagle Store #6386; The Neighborhood Link; St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church; Thrift & Thrive at the Farm; Victory Family Church; and Walmart Supercenter #2287—have made this boutique possible. To our kind donors: Thank you so much! As you can see, your generosity truly makes a difference.

“No matter who you are, no matter how rich or poor you are, no matter how you look, everyone deserves to be valued and appreciated and to have access to nice things. That is what I am trying to accomplish with the Eagle’s Nest Boutique.”
— Mrs. Young, Main Contributor

The Eagle’s Nest will continue to grow—with future plans like a logo designed by Commercial Arts students and maybe even a mural to give the boutique its own unique "storefront" vibe.

“It’s so rewarding to see the joy and excitement that the Eagle’s Nest has created for our students!”
— Mrs. Jones

Whether it’s scrubs for a co-op, a suit for an interview, or a warm hoodie for the winter, the Eagle’s Nest Boutique is here to serve the heart of LCCTC: its students.

Thank you for supporting the Eagle’s Nest Boutique—where students leave with more than just clothes. They leave knowing someone cares.

LCCTC is also proud of our Co-Op Program. Open to seniors who qualify, our students are able to head out into the workforce and continue their hands-on training in a real-world setting! At the time of this publication, there are already 18 students who have been successfully placed in a co-op job, either part-time or full-time; what a great start! If you are interested in learning more about the Co-Op Program here at LCCTC, please contact Mrs. Margy Gerhardt in the Library.
