LYFT Kicks Off for the 2025-26 Year with SYaTP

On Wednesday, September 24th, our students gathered around the flagpole for See You at the Pole, the annual day of student-led prayer. Together in prayer, they lifted up our school, our community, our state, our nation, and our world.

This special event also marked the kickoff of LYFT (LCCTC Youth in Faith and Trust). Every Friday morning, LYFT meets in the library for a time of encouragement, student-led messages, and prayer—an opportunity for students to “LYFT” one another’s spirits.

We are so proud of these students for their faith, courage, and commitment.

During our first meeting, students were led by Sophie Wright, a Health Assistant senior, who volunteered to bring the message for the morning. She spoke about 1 Timothy 4: 12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.”

Sophie shared, “I really love this verse because teenagers today sometimes get discouraged on our paths. Sometimes the path isn’t easy, but having a strong belief makes the journey much better.”

Coupled with her message was an activity that challenged students to lift a ball from the table. The activity centered around the idea that alone we can do little, but together we can do so much. Once they began to work together, they were able to reach success.

Sophie received great advice from fellow LYFT leader, Gabe, who reminded her that sometimes people can “learn from each other because it may help others through something similar.“

Each Friday morning in LYFT, students connect as a community, helping them realize that they are not alone.

Sophie, Gabe, and the other LYFT students invite all students to join them every Friday morning in the library.. Whenever students arrive to school, they can head straight to the library and waiting for them are smiles, friends, and maybe if they’re lucky, a donut, too!
