CA Hosts an Art Exhibit at The Confluence (March 11 - May 2)

The LCCTC Commercial Art (CA) Department will host a closing reception for the Mark Makers on Thursday, May 2nd from 5-7 pm.

Our wonderful Restaurant Trades (RT) program will be serving hors d'oeuvres and The Confluence will be hosting live music, it is sure to be a fun evening celebrating our student’s success.

For our CA Program, Mark Makers is the most ambitious public exhibition to date. The show features 112 artworks by 40 current and former students of our program. In partnership with our OAC members at the Hoyt, our students took advantage of the opportunity to plan this entire exhibition from start to finish learning the responsibilities that a Gallery Worker would experience.

This show differs from previous shows we have participated in because it is solely ours. The marketing materials, program, layout, and all of the work were made by our students. Some notable works include a full series of character designs by CA Junior Noah Salow complete with a character guidebook he designed and produced to accompany the works. Also on display is a variety of apparel designs and a massive in-progress work for RT.

The exhibition opened on March 11th and has been well received by the community. CA Program instructor, Mr. Anthony DeRosa, states, “This is something you need to see in person, and I could not be more proud of my students as this is a very rare opportunity for high school students to gain such experience.”

DeRosa continues, “They knocked it out of the park. I sincerely hope you will consider joining me and my students for the closing reception, or see the show between now and then.”
