Planning for "Tomorrow"

Health Assistant seniors took an in-person campus tour of the UPMC Jameson School of Nursing to discover opportunities at our local RN program in Lawrence County.

Though they’ve investigated the school’s website, this opportunity to physically see the new facility was well worth the visit. They heard from the Director of Admissions, the Director of Nursing, and current seniors in the course who will soon graduate with a degree as a Registered Nurse; all shared information regarding their options after graduation including 16-month full-time and LPN and RN bridge options. These presenters were able to give a perspective from a student on the school and what it takes to be successful at the next level.

Senior Joy Hudspath was quite impressed with the quality of the training opportunity: “You should have seen their Simulation Manikin! It was so incredibly life-like!”

We look forward to continuing this visit as we return with our upcoming HA students, and that this facility is right here in our backyard is sure a plus!
