SkillsUSA Awaits Results from Virtual Competition

The competition is complete, and now it’s just a matter of waiting to hear the results. Having earned their way to state competition, over the past week, nineteen members of the Lawrence County Chapter of SkillsUSA virtually competed with the best of the best in Pennsylvania (Scroll to the bottom to view competitor pictures). On Thursday, April 15th at 10 AM, we will finally see the fruits of their labor and skill during the 2021 SkillsUSA Pennsylvania Virtual Awards Assembly.

The SkillsUSA experience for these competitors this year has been unlike any other: Ending the previous year with the cancellation of state championships, beginning with face-to-face instruction, then suddenly switching to virtual, and then returning “normal” only to experience days filled with rumors of quarantine and, for some, actual moments of quarantine — our competitors remember what it was like to excitedly prepare for the 2020 SkillsUSA PA Championships but to then have those hopes dashed when the world closed due to pandemic.

Competing in SkillsUSA is never easy, but for our chapter of nineteen, this year proved to be extraordinarily challenging; however difficult, the challenges didn’t keep them from seeing it through ‘til the end. Our students made the commitment to compete, pushed through the struggles, found creative ways to keep up with their schoolwork and preparation for state championships, and gave their best efforts on competition day.

Join us in congratulating our competitors for all they did to do their very best and to make us all proud.
