Peer Leadership Pie Throw Returns

The annual Peer Leadership Pie Throw is back. It’s a tradition that permits students to “get back” at their LCCTC teachers and staff for all of the times the kids hear “do this” or “don’t do that.” It’s a super-fun way to blow off a little steam, to enjoy a good laugh by all, and to raise a little money for families in need.

Peer Leaders sold chances to throw pies and teachers volunteered to join in on the fun. Peer Leader Advisor, Mrs. Pasterik helped LCCTC’s incredible custodial staff laid out the plastic. The set, built and decorated by former Peer Leaders, was set up for reuse. Restaurant trades made up giant vats of whipped creme, and Mr. Ovial, Peer Leader Co-Advisor served as emcee. The rest was one laughing, sticking mess!

Those lucky ones whose names were drawn approached the table — some walked, some skipped, some dashed, and threw pie after pie after pie to the sound of cheers and laughter.

Ian Stoneking, HA junior from Ellwood, seemed to make his own luck by entering several times.

“I can’t wait to pie you, Mr. Barker,” Stoneking called out. “You were my only B last grading period!” as he grinned and pointed at his math teacher.

A good sport, Barker thrust his head through the space for the littlest elf, and continued to harass Ian laughing, “And you should thank me for challenging you!” . . . then SPLAT! Ian got his “revenge.”
