The Blood Bank Asks You to Consider Life on September 10th...
Do you know what happened on Sept. 9, 2001? People in the NYC area who donated blood on that day saved the lives of those injured in the September 11 terrorist attacks who wouldn't have survived without blood transfusions.
As we commemorate the 18th anniversary of the attacks, we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We also gratefully acknowledge the many blood donors who saved lives that week. Donate TODAY, September 10th at the Lawrence County CTC!
Horrific events like terrorist attacks and mass shootings are unpredictable. It takes 24-48 hours to process blood after a donation. As we experienced with the Tree of Life shooting and the mass casualty events of this summer alone, these events can happen in anyone's backyard. That's why it's important for donors like you to keep the supplies stocked, so blood products are available when needed.
Many people are commemorating Sept. 11 with an act of community service. We hope you'll consider scheduling a blood donation as your community service, now (if eligible) and on a regular basis.
