The final game of the annual faculty/student volleyball tournament was certainly a nail-biter.

In the first of two sets, though Mr. Ovial had several sweet spikes, junior cosmetology student Szofia Miller countered with several nice saves. At the end of the first set, the students prevailed 25-12.

The second set was full of excitement, too. With Noah Bunney, senior cosmetologist, hyping up the crowd to cheer on the students and senior Electrical Occupation student Tim Porada’s presence — even against Corporal Hoyland with the spike — at the net, the students held their own. Junior Health Assistance student, Corrin Clouston rocked the serve, point after point, and Troy Polamalu-like saves from back row defensive specialist EO senior Cody Marks made the teachers work for every point. Wing men EO sophomore Zack Penwell and senior EO senior Brendan Book held the team together like glue making this year’s Student VB team a formidable opponent.

In the end, though, the staff took the second match with a score of 25-10, making it a rare overall tie between students and staff. Could there be a rematch in the future? Time will tell.
