“Just One”: A Powerful Message of Prevention and Care at LCCTC

Students at Lawrence County Career & Technical Center received a powerful and personal message during a recent presentation of the Just One program, delivered by Vision Ministries to 10th through 12th-grade students.

Focused on substance abuse prevention and education, the program addressed the real and growing dangers of illicit drugs, fentanyl, and vaping. Rather than relying solely on statistics, the presentation centered on real-life experiences and heartfelt testimonies that underscored how “just one” choice can change a life forever.

Dan Bailey led the presentation, joined by Randy Crum, Vaughn Crisci, and Lori Sager, who each shared deeply personal stories about their families and loved ones. Their honesty brought the issue out of the abstract and into sharp focus, reminding students that substance abuse affects not only individuals, but entire families and communities.

One moment resonated especially strongly with students. Speaking from experience and concern, Vaughn Crisci offered a simple but emotional plea: “Just don’t start. We love you.”

The message was clear—prevention begins with awareness, compassion, and the courage to make healthy choices. By combining education with real human stories, the Just One program left students with more than information; it left them with a sense that their lives matter and that there are people who care deeply about the choices they make.

LCCTC thanks Vision Ministries and the presenters for bringing such an impactful and meaningful program to our students.
