SkillsUSA -- A Photographic Journal of Experience & Skill

When our kids head to Hershey for the SkillsUSA Pennsylvania Leadership and Skill Conference to compete, it’s a total experience. After months of preparation, there’s a little play, but then it’s time to go to work. For skill-based competitions, it’s often a matter of putting in a full 8-hour work day.

For leadership competitions, it’s just like making that big presentation in front of the movers and shakers of the company. For all, it’s a lot of good, healthy stress that comes from the idea, “rehearse until it hurts”; the kind that builds resilience and a desire to succeed.

Although we are unable to give you photos of many of the actual competitions, know that the kids returned from their moment of putting it all on the line with a heavy pinch of exhaustion and a big dose of pride in knowing they did their best.
