The Secret to Getting Ahead

by El McKnight, junior Electrical Occupations

We aren’t too far into the school year yet at LCCTC, but students and staff alike are already on their toes!  One student really knows how to keep up with the hustle and bustle.  Kyle Conti, a sophomore in Computer and Office Technology, started attending LCCTC in mid-September but was unable to attend for a month before getting into gear in his COT shop.  Still, Conti never faltered; when he returned, he hit the ground running and earned an impressive fifteen essential certifications in the span of only two weeks!

In an interview, he explains the system behind jobs in the COT vocational field and which credentials are required or helpful when pursuing a specific position.  Conti also expresses his love for the hardware aspect of the field, hoping to secure a career in either that or programming.  The certification tests he’s been completing will provide him with the beneficial skills and extra knowledge he needs for a job in the future.

Seeing this kind of determination is fresh inspiration for everyone and a reminder of what could be in your future when you apply yourself with such perseverance.  Here’s a special thanks to Mr. Conti for being an outstanding representative of our school and a reminder to always try your best, even when the odds are stacked against you.
