1 - 2 - 3 - 4 ... I Declare a Penny War!

It's that time of year! Penny Wars will commence on December 3rd and will run through December 13th.

Students, here are a few super-simple ways to gather your coins to donate: Round up your coffee shop bill and dedicate your change to Penny Wars. Parents and guardians — you’ll love this next suggestion … CLEAN YOUR ROOM or CLEAN OUT YOUR CAR and bring in the random change you find! Finally, instead of making a run to your favorite gas station for a junk-food fix, dedicate a day or two or five to Give a Christmas and earn your shop a pizza party — all the while, helping those in need at LCCTC.

Last year, students raised enough cash last year through the Give a Christmas t-shirt sale, the pie throw, and Penny Wars to gift 40 students with $40 Gift Cards. It is Peer Leadership’s goal to meet or exceed this year.

Remember, Each shop has a designated jar. Penny Wars will occur during cafeteria lunches during December 3- December 13, 2019.

HOW TO PLAY:

  • Point totals are equivalent to the monetary value:

  • To gain points for your shop, ADD PENNIES and DOLLAR BILLS to add to your total!

    • one penny = one point added

    • one dollar (or 100 pennies) = 100 points added

  • Reduce shop totals when you ADD SILVER COINS from rival shops!

    • one dime = 10 points subtracting the total from that shop

    • one quarter = 25 points subtracted

THE GOAL FOR EACH SHOP: The shop with the most points wins a pizza party!
